Little Athletics Structure

Club

The base of the structure. The club is a “home” for athletes and parents usually based on geography or friendships. Our Centre has 8 clubs. All athletes will compete at our centre representing their chosen club.

Centre – Diamond Valley Little Athletics Centre (DVLAC)

The Centre is made up of a group of Clubs supported by an Executive Committee responsible for the conduct of competition, meetings and furthering the aims of Little Athletics in the area. The Centre works with the clubs, the Willinda Park Committee of Management, the Diamond Valley Athletics Club and the Banyule City Council to meet these roles.

Region – Northern Metropolitan (NMR)

A group of Centres with a management Committee responsible for conducting qualifying rounds for the Victorian Championships, Region Championships for non-qualifying State Events and administrative support for the Northern Metropolitan Region (NMR). Monthly meetings are attended by a minimum of one DVLAC Delegate.

The Centres in our Region are Coburg, Craigieburn, Diamond Valley, Essendon, Keilor, Kilmore, Lancefield‑Romsey, Preston-Reservoir, Sunbury and Whittlesea City.

There are 4 Metropolitan and 3 Country Regions in Victoria supporting over 100 centres.

State Body – Little Athletics Victoria (LAVic)

The State body - an Annual General Meeting is attended by a minimum of two delegates from each Centre in the State. An elected Board of Management supported by office staff, exercises day to day control. More information can be found at www.lavic.com.au

National Body – Little Athletics Australia (LAA)

The National body controlled by an executive of four together with the Chairman/President of each affiliated State or Territory Association. More information at www.littleathletics.com.au
