- Each Club has a uniform which is required to be worn by all competing athletes at the Centre level competition events.
- Competition tops must have the following:
- The athletes current season “Commonwealth Bank Competitor Patch” securely attached to the front of their uniform.
- A “Coles” badge attached to the right-hand side (above the LAVic logo). These badges are required to be sewn on and are to cover any previous logos/badges.
- Any athlete who shows up for an event without the approved Club uniform, LAVic Naming Sponsor badge and their competition patch attached to their uniform will be told they will not have their performance recorded by the Centre, even if a Centre Best Performance is broken.
- Venue recorders must highlight on recording sheets that they competed ‘Out Of Uniform’ (OOU) so Centre and Club recorders know not to allocate points or performances to that athlete.
- When competing at Region Carnivals or State Championship competitions, the Diamond Valley Centre uniform must be worn.
Tops
- A club competition top can consist of a singlet, polo top, tee shirt or crop top. These are available from your Club.
- Centre uniform tops can be ordered via the online Shop. Contact the Centre Team Manager if you wish to try on a top to determine size.
Undergarment – Tops
- Athletes may wear an undergarment top (long or short sleeve) under their Centre or Club uniform top if it is plain (no patterns or logos) the same colour of their uniform top, black or white.
Shorts / Leggings.
- Competition shorts or leggings are to be black and have no pockets, patterns or unapproved logos.
- All shorts and leggings must be worn to cover the hip bones.
- Any unapproved logos on must be smaller than 4×4cm.
- Leggings of any length can be worn as an outer garment except in Race Walking events, where they must stop before the knee.
If, due to Religious, Medical or other exceptional circumstances, athletes cannot wear uniform bottoms that finish above the knee, they should apply for approval prior to the competition day of an alternative option. Each application will be considered on a case by case basis and any approved option must not impede the view of the walks judges.
Undergarments – Shorts / Leggings
- Undergarments worn underneath shorts must black or beige.
- Undergarments include leggings or bike shorts.
- Undergarments must be plain, without patterns or unapproved logos.
Socks
- Socks if worn, can be of any length, colour, or pattern, however they cannot cover the knee or be objectionable.
Hats
- Hats may be worn during an event providing that it will not potentially injure or hinder the athlete or other athletes.
Sunglasses
- Sunglasses may be worn during an event providing that they will not potentially injure or hinder the athlete or other athletes.
Footwear
- Footwear is compulsory for ALL athletes in ALL events.
- The wearing of footwear with blades or cleats constructed of hard plastic will not be permitted.
- Spike shoes may not be worn by Under 6-10 athletes.
- Under 11-12 athletes may wear spike shoes for all jump events, javelin throw and all individual race events up to and including 400m and all relay events.
- Under 13-17 athletes may wear spike shoes for all jump events, javelin throw and all race events except Race Walks.
- Spike shoes cannot be worn outside the defined field of play unless all spikes are suitably covered.
When competing at Willinda Park…
- Spikes must be conical in shape (‘Needle’ or ‘Pin’ spikes are not permitted).
- Spikes must not exceed 7mm for running events.
- Spikes must not exceed 9mm for High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump and Javelin events.
