Working With Children Checks (WWCC) Information

The Victorian Government introduced the Working with Children Act which came into effect on 1 July 2009. This check applies to adults who are engaged in volunteer roles involving children.

Please refer to the LAVic WWCC Handout and Working with Children Check website for full details and exemptions.

  • Parents who intends to enter their child in a Region or State event do not require a WWCC as they will be required to be present and officiate on the day their child is participating.
  • However, if they volunteer to be a Key Official, at a Region State event then you are required to have a WWCC, as they could be officiating on the day when their child is not participating.
  • All Centre and Club Committee Members, Coaches and helpers without children must have a WWCC.
