Centre Best Performance Policy

  • A Centre Best Performance is achieved when an athlete betters and existing result in an event for their age group.
  • A Centre Best Performance can only be achieved at a scheduled Diamond Valley Little Athletics Centre competition (including Championships).
  • All Cross Country events and Turbo Javelin are excluded from Centre Best Performances.
  • Performances at other Centre’s competitions, Open Day’s, Region Carnivals or State Championships will not be recognised as a Centre Best Performance.
  • For a result to become recognised as a Centre Best Performance it must be verified.
  • Laned races less than 400m, the manual time is rounded to 0.1 seconds and must be within 0.24 seconds of the electronic time.
  • Laned races 400m or 4×100m, the manual time is rounded to 0.1 seconds and must be within 0.14 seconds of electronic time.
  • Pack (unlaned) races, the electronic time and manual time must be within 0.14 seconds of each other.
  • Field Events : Measurement must be made with a certified metal tape and verified by a member of the Centre Executive.
  • High Jump : Measurement must be made before and after each trial using the certified measuring stick by a member of the Centre Executive.
  • A certificate of achievement will be presented to the athlete at a later competition.
  • Current and historic Centre Best Performances are available on the DVLAC website.
  • For new events, all Centre Best Performances during the season are provisional with the best result at the end of the season being awarded the “Inaugural” Centre Best Performance.
